Well, I have been "called out" by our dear friend Jack Parker on not updating my blog site! As far as I know, no one else even looks at it or would know that it has been a year or so since we have updated! So these updates are for you Jack!!! (We LOVED having ya'll in Brownsville today! We should make that a tradition! Maybe we could get all the Parkers to come to the farm next year for Thanksgiving?!)

We went to the beach with Jamie's family over Memorial Day weekend and had a great time! The kids are fun ages to be at the beach and swim!

Yesterday, Feb 2, we went to the doctor for our ultrasound and checkup. We had the ultrasound tech talk to our friend, Karend Carl and tell her the sex of the baby without us knowing. She baked a cake, iced it with THICK white icing and decorated it beautifully! Last night the family anxiously ate supper at mama and daddy's house...waiting to cut the cake. We had 2 groups...one dressed in pink if they thought it was a girl...one in blue if they thought it was a boy. When we all finished, Jamie had the honors of cutting the cake...the color of the inside revealed the sex of the baby...blue for boy...pink for girl...There was much excitement, screaming, people on speaker phone and Skype, trembling hands...And he cut.....IT WAS BLUE!!!!! Baby Carpenter #4 is a BOY!! We were/are in shock...thrilled...and cannot imagine this house with any amount of blue! We don't have ANY of that color...our coats, bibs, hats, burp cloths, blankets, clothes...EVERYTHING is PINK...I hope he likes pink!!!! We don't have a name yet...so any suggestions are welcome! Our due date is July 6.

Davis Island after Christmas

We went with Mamie and Bop Bop to Davis Island for our annual after Christmas trip and had a great time! Jamie's parents, Rho Rho and Gigi got to come spend one night with us. We love getting to go...it's always such a fun & relaxing trip.

The girls got new sleds for Christmas and couldn't wait for snow to try them out! Gigi tied a rope to them and pulled them down a hill!!

Elizabeth went on her first hunting trip with her daddy. She had a good nap! and missed seeing 3 black bears!

OVERDUE UPDATE!

Mamie has forced me to update my blog since she sent out the link in her Christmas letter! Hopefully, everyone hasn't already looked and given up on the Carpenters! We have been busy this fall with school, work and our biggest news...we are having baby #4 in July. We are due July 6 and everyone is so excited! Elizabeth was Molly the American Girl Doll in our church Christmas musical and did a great job! Amy is 18 months...thinks she's six...and does much of what her sisters do! Martha, 4, is going to preschool at church 2 days a week and has decided she loves school! Elizabeth, 6, is in first grade and her biggest news is that she lost a front tooth for Christmas! She had to have her bottom 4 pulled last year, so this is the first tooth she actually lost on her own. Jamie pulled it out early one morning...they were both suprised! It was really cute!

We went to the Memphis Zoo to Zoo Lights with Aunt Lollie recently and had a blast! Then the best part for the girls was that they got to go home and spend the night with Lollie! I think it has been the highlight of their Christmas break!

Dove Hunting

Jamie and I took the two older girls dove hunting Labor Day weekend. Amy was waiting at home in the frying pan...but we didn't have much to bring home to fry-up!!! But we had a great time!

First Days of School

Elizabeth started first grade on Monday and Martha had her first day of preschool on Tuesday. They both love their teachers and are looking forward to a great year!

We went to the Moss Family Reunion the week prior to going with the Carpenters...Here are a few pics...

The WHOLE Moss Family...or at least those that could be there...There were about 72 of us this year, I think! It is such an awesome week! My parents and their grandchildren...11...with #12 on the way...My brother George and Beverly are expecting in October.

Amy turns ONE!

We had another birthday girl in June...Amy turned one and started walking on her birthday! We were at the beach with the Carpenter's and celebrated with her cousin Lilly who turned one 3 days later! Such a cute pair!

Elizabeth turns SIX!

Elizabeth turned 6 on June 1. We can't believe it! We are so proud of her...she is such a sweet daughter. We had all the family come to our house to celebrate. Elizabeth wanted her cousins to come run in the sprinkler and she planned our dinner menu...steak, baked potato, corn pudding and devlied eggs!! It was delicious!

Bungee Girl!

We went to Birmingham for our cousin Helen's first birthday this weekend and went to the Galleria. Elizabeth decided she wanted to try the bungee jumping in the middle of the mall. I videoed her on my phone so the quality is not that great...She loved it!

Let it SNOW!

Jamie and I went to Nashville Saturday night for a wedding...and while we were gone, places around Brownsville got up to 18 inches of snow!! It was amazing! Elizabeth, Martha and Amy were staying with Mamie who was at a meeting when the snow started. George and Beverly were keeping the girls & when Mamie made it back to their house (in the middle of the snow-fall...Mamie said it was like a blizzard...)they couldn't make it home! So, they got to spend the night with cousns...what a treat! We made it to Bells Sunday to get them...they had been playing...so, when we got home late that afternoon, we managed to get in a little bit more play...and a snowman!

Christmas 2008

We started in Brownsville at mama and daddy's with 11 Moss grandchildren performing the Christmas Pagent. We had Caesar, angels, shepherds, Mary, Joseph & baby Jesus and even cows! An award winning performance by all!

After opening presents and celebrating with the Moss famiy, we headed to Greenville for more fun...

Amy's Christening

Amy was christened the weekend of Oct. 25 at the First United Methodist Church in Brownsville. We were honored to have all of our siblings, cousins, grandparents and other family and friends there to celebrate with us! What a special time in her life! After the service, we ate lunch at Mamie and Bop Bop's house and had a great day!

We had a great time in Greenville this past weekend for Lilly' Grace Thomas's christening. Jamie and I are honored to be her godparents. The weekend passed too quickly with a baby shower for Amy Cobb Slater on Saturday and the christening festivities on Sunday. Elizabeth, Martha and Amy loved being with their cousins, Charles and Lilly and of course with Rho Rho and Gigi.

We have a school girl!!! Elizabeth is now in kindergarten! She is now through her first week and did great! We are so proud of her! She has got a great teacher and is making new friends everyday.

We went to visit Rho Rho & Gigi when Amy was 2 weeks old. All the cousins had a ball playing together. Lilly who is 3 days younger than Amy & Charlie (19 months old) were definitely missed when we had to come home!

Baby Amy Moss Carpenter

She's here! And I can't believe it has taken me this long to put it on the blog! Amy was born June 19 at 3:55pm and weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. She is a perfect angel and we are all enjoying her so much! The girls are both doing great with her. Elizabeth is very helpful and Martha wants to hold her all of the time! What a joy they are to Jamie and me!

Still "on" for Thursday

Elizabeth and I had a "girls day out" today in Memphis and went to our last doctor's appt. She was dying to use a Build-A-Bear gift certificate she got for her birthday and so Mamie kept Martha at home. Elizabeth is such a joy to be with. We rode the carosel at Wolfchase SEVERAL times and just enjoyed being together. Dr. Donato said I am 3 cm dialated and everything looked great with the baby! I will go in Thurs. at 7:30am to be induced...unless Amy decides to make her arrival before then! We cannot wait to meet this precious new gift we are receiving! What a blessing!!

I went to the doctor last Friday and she scheduled my induction for Thurs., June 19. Baby Amy will be here then...if not before! I go to the doctor again this Friday for my last checkup!

Moss Beach Reunion 2008

We had another great year at the Moss Beach Reunion! The girls went for the whole week with Mamie and Bop Bop and I was so glad to get to go...thanks to Tra and his pilot Justin...and spend a few days (37 weeks pregnant!) with the Moss clan! It is such a special time to get to be with family...and there is no place like The Mariner (good call Helen!).

Fishing

We recently went fishing with our friends, The Stowes and although we didn't catch anything, we had a great time!

Bop Bop stopped by with a snake he had caught to show the girls.

Elizabeth loved it and carried it to a tree to let it go.

Martha wasn't as brave, but loved "Slimy the worm!"

Mamie & Bop's "Swimming Pool"

The girls love to help Mamie and Bop water the flowers...any excuse to use the water hose!!! And they also discovered a "swimming pool" that they love to play in!

Martha, being 2 hasn't quite caught on to the meaning of a swimming suit. She thinks that once it gets wet, she is supposed to take it off! We'll have to see how well that goes over next week at the beach!

Happy 5th Birthday Dibbit!

Elizabeth is celebrating her 5th birthday this weekend and since she will be at the beach, we already had her party. She celebrated with her friend, Madelyn who has a birthday this week too. They invited 4 friends to go for a "spa day!" and then we went to McDonald's "all dolled up!" They had a great time! She kept saying, "This is the best day of my life!"

Martha had to out on some "yip-tick" too! She's really pretty good at it!

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day, Jamie and the girls gave me a double jogging stroller. I guess when Baby Amy comes (soon!), Elizabeth will have to start jogging beside me! I am such a thankful mother to be blessed with such a wonderful family. I couldn't ask for anything more!

The Velveteen Rabbit recital

Martha 2 1/2 Elizabeth (5 June 1)

Elizabeth loved ballet this year. Her end of the year recital was The Velveteen Rabbit. I don't know if she loved ballet or getting to see her Moss cousins each week more! We had a great time and all of the girls (and George IV!) did a great job! We were also thankful some of the Carpenter crew could come see!
